The Neighbourhoods

Each neighbourhood within Mt Cardrona Station offers a distinct way to live on the station. Walter Little offers the largest lots on the station; Little Meg is an idyllic neighbourhood located just 300m from the village; and Pioneer, offering north-facing house and land packages ready to embrace life on the station. The Ridges creates the best of both worlds – a reserve out the back and direct access to a unique alpine village out your front door.

Positioned on the gently sloping northeastern side of the station, Whitestar offers 18 contoured sites, each with a building platform thoughtfully positioned to preserve views across the plateau and the Cardrona Valley below. The allure here will be to turn a blank canvas into your masterpiece home and maximise this incredible aspect. To help you do this, you have the option to choose from six pre-approved architectural house concept designs. You may also choose to design your own, adhering to Mt Cardrona Station Design Guidelines.

House and Land Packages

Pioneer offers a collection of three architecturally designed house, land and landscaping packages. Open to north-facing views and within metres of the village precinct, there are very few positions at Mt Cardrona Station like this.

Little Meg is ideally positioned next to the village yet retains grand views and the feel of a rural lifestyle. Here is your chance to create a home designed to suit your lifestyle amongst a peaceful rural-urban outlook.

Elevated to maximise views and backing directly onto the reserve, The Ridges puts you in a prime position amongst a spectacular high country community. Enjoy the essence of a rural retreat yet with the benefits of a modern village at the end of the street.

With its elevated position, unobstructed views up to the Mt Cardrona Range, and proximity to the conveniences of the village, Walter Little is the station’s premium neighbourhood.

An alpine

village

An integrated village set upon a stunning high country plateau, its distinctive character derived from a dramatic setting and rich heritage.

The Village Character

Defining Mt Cardrona Station is an architectural master-plan that is both respectful and reflective of its surroundings. The plan provides for residential homes, visitor accommodation and village amenities designed to sit comfortably within the aesthetic of this region shaped by gold.

Connection to views, open spaces and natural vegetation is central to the design ethos. Architecturally designed buildings will sit respectfully within the dramatic Central Otago landscape, making Mt Cardrona Station a showcase for urban-rural living.

The Neighbourhoods and Homes

Unashamedly contemporary, while acknowledging and referencing historical precedents and the unique nature of the Cardrona Valley.

Every aspect of Mt Cardrona Station is influenced by its extraordinary surrounds. Design guidelines provide an overarching vision for Mt Cardrona Station while still providing scope for individual interpretation. The historical precedents of early miners’ cottages and simple farmhouses which once dotted the landscape provide inspiration, as does a desire for a contemporary design ethos and highest-quality modern elements and materials.

The village offers a wide range of living densities for both permanent and holiday residences. Astute master-planning creates a desirable lifestyle for all as well as an authentic local architecture flavour. Inspiration is drawn from the rugged beauty of Central Otago, an area revered around the globe.

More information on building at Mt Cardrona Station is available in the Design Guidelines. These guidelines will ensure consistent and quality design while still providing scope for individual interpretation.
