To ensure a high standard of architecture in keeping with the aesthetic vision for Mt Cardrona Station and respect for the surrounding environment, your design must adhere to the Mt Cardrona Station Design Guidelines and be approved by the Design Review Board. We intend to keep this process as simple and seamless as possible to smooth your path to home build so you can enjoy the Station sooner, rather than later.

Our Design Guidelines ensure your property – and your neighbours – are designed and constructed to the highest standards to uphold the vision for the Station. Our intent is to create an integrated village with a distinctive character derived from its dramatic setting and rich heritage.

The design reflects the special mountain landscape and the historical architectural qualities of the area. The Design Review Board is tasked with protecting the special character of the Station and to ensure all homes at Mt Cardrona Station meet our high standards of quality, aesthetic coherence, and environmental responsiveness.

Wastewater and water are managed by the Queenstown Lakes District Council using the recently completed Cardrona Wastewater and Water Treatment plants. Both plants are state-of the art, with the Water plant being one of the highest quality water treatment plants in the country, complying with new NZ Drinking Water Standards. Power is connected to the Aurora network. Auroara supplies power throughout the Queenstown Lakes District.
